Swim Instructor Qualifications

• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) from the American Red Cross, which includes CPR and First Aid required
• Reliable transportation
• Must have CA driver’s license and auto insurance 
• Flexible schedule. Most lessons are weekdays and weekends between 9am-5pm.
• Willing to drive to client location (pool)
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Able to lift 20-25 lbs.
• Dependable and flexible

Job Requirements:

• Work with children and adults ages 4-adult
• Ensure swimming lessons are effective, safe, and fun
• Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants, so they can meet course objectives
• Must be able to work independently
• Customer Focused to provide exceptional customer service
• Must be willing to participate in a training program 
• Dependable, reliable, and punctuality is crucial
• Enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism
• Desire to have fun
• Good communication skills to regularly communicate with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress
• Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans
• Enforce all water safety policies, rules, and regulations

Ideal Candidate:

• Lifeguard preferred but not required

Surf Instructor Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of surfing experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain if hired)
• Reliable Transportation 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Requirements:

• Flexible schedule – Willing to work mostly weekend mornings and some weekdays especially during summer months. Most lessons scheduled in advance but some same day appointments so being on call is part of the job

• Must be able to work independently

• Must be willing to participate in a comprehensive training program 
• Dependable, reliable, and punctuality is crucial
• Enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism
• Desire to have fun
